How the interior looks

Completed
near Łódź

The owner of a hair salon wanted a “wow” effect and stone-look tiles, and left the rest to me. I designed a bathroom for clients: dark, with black sanitaryware, gold details and a large backlit mirror — so that daily marks do not show. Guests now happily take photos here.

20–35

thousand PLN · estimated renovation cost

Estimate based on Łódź market rates (2026) for a 5–6 m² bathroom with porcelain tiles, a made-to-measure vanity, an LED mirror and black sanitaryware. Not the client's bill.

02Starting point

What the clients came with

Renovation · near Łódź. The main needs and problems the project started from.

  1. 01

A “wow” effect in a bathroom for salon clients, with stone-look tiles.

  2. 02

An interior where daily marks do not show — the bathroom serves guests, not a household.

  3. 03

An elegant, warm character; the client left the rest of the choices to me.

03Before and after

How it was and how it is

05Decisions

Key design decisions

What I designed, and why that way.

01

Problem The bathroom is used by salon guests, so toothpaste, cosmetics and marks would show on light surfaces.

Dark finishes

The vanity, worktop and sanitaryware are black, and the room is toned down. The client likes black and agreed that the surfaces will need wiping from time to time.

02

A large backlit mirror and a stone-look wall

The round backlit mirror is the highlight of the bathroom. Behind it I ran a tile with a stone pattern that gives the interior elegance.

03

Gold and warm light

Gold handles and a gold tap warm up the black, and the atmospheric, warm pendant lamps — chosen from my proposals — give the bathroom character.

06Materials

Materials and workmanship

What I chose, where it came from and what we kept.

Elements from a glazier
Some of the elements, including glass ones, were made by a glazier; the rest was bought online and in chain stores.
Tiles
Large beige porcelain slabs and a stone-look tile behind the mirror — from chain stores and online shops.
Sanitaryware and fittings
Black sanitaryware, worktop and vanity, gold handles and tap — bought online and in chain stores.

The owner of a hair salon near Łódź wanted the clients’ bathroom to make an impression. She had one wish — stone-look tiles — and left the rest to me.

This is not an ordinary home bathroom: guests use it, so toothpaste or cosmetics quickly show on light surfaces. That is why I went for black — the vanity, the worktop and the sanitaryware — warmed up with gold details. The biggest effect comes from the round, backlit mirror. The salon’s clients say it is their favourite room.
